Project Diary

Lobster-pots, again

It was a sunny morning. I got up early, to cut to size the 100+ small pieces of wood required to construct four wooden lobster pots. The recent studio de-cluttering policy had left no alternative. "Scenery" now had to go around the sides of the Gallery, and not in the middle. So now, pictures are stacked on the harbour wall, on breakwaters, on fish-boxes - and on lobster-pots.

Painting Catalogue

I have added a Catalogue of the paintings currently available in the gallery (approx.100). A thumbnail sheet showing all of them links to the individual pictures. Another new  album shows all earlier works - paintings that are no longer available.

The Site Guide has been improved. It is now the central key to navigating the whole site. A set of photographs called "Self-Portrait" has been added to the Site Guide.

The picture shown here is one from the new the Catalogue - "Reflections of the Castle, Ballybunion".

Secret Garden - Exit

I have added another piece to my Garden Art, and can now walk out through a magic gate in the corner, onto a beach at the foot of a cliff.

This painting dates back to my original construction of the Gallery, when the visitor entered a tiny room, from which a small door opened out, onto the rest of the exhibition (a beach).

Plans changed, and the door found its way upstairs.

That is, until I was clearing out the loft recently, re-discovered it, and found it a new use.

Competition - Change

This contraption is my home-made rostrum camera. Photography now plays a much bigger part in the Free Draw "Win a Painting of North Kerry" as, from last month, the prize is an oil painting done for the winner, absolutely free, using any photograph from the site.
